Abby
Registered Veterinary TechnicianAbby was born and raised in Arvada, Colorado, and graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute in December 2021. She loves Labrador Retrievers and puppies! Some of her favorite activities include snowboarding, volleyball, and soccer. Abby looks forward to meeting your animals.
Cailin
Registered Veterinary TechnicianCailin was born and raised in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. After studying Zoology at Colorado State University, she obtained her Certification in Veterinary Technology in 2010. Cailin brings a background in zoo and emergency medicine to the team. Outside of work, she keeps busy with her husband, Eric, their children, Maggie and Colt, and their two Portuguese Water Dogs, Buck and Merle.
Dani
Registered Veterinary TechnicianDani began her journey as a Veterinary Technician 16 years ago in her native Wisconsin. Her love for the mountains brought her to Colorado in 2015, and her career at Homeward Bound started shortly after. Dani has always felt a close bond with animals and is devoted to their care and well-being. She is a passionate advocate for rescues and has two rescue dogs at home. When she is not in the clinic, she can be found hiking, snowboarding, and exploring the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
Emma
Registered Veterinary TechnicianEmma is a Registered Veterinary Technician from Connecticut. She is a proud UConn Animal Science graduate with a background in large-animal science and care, mixed-animal general practice, small-animal ER, and zoo education. When she is off the clock, she can be found running trails, hiking mountains, bird watching, or relaxing with her hairless cat, Possum.
Katie
Registered Veterinary TechnicianKatie is a Registered Veterinary Technician. A Colorado native, she graduated from Denver Community College in May 2020, passed her VTNE in the fall of that year, and has been working at Homeward Bound ever since. In her free time, she loves spending time with her friends, her husband, Corey, and their pug, Piper, as well as attending pug meetups together. Katie loves her job and specifically enjoys surgery and dentistry.
Logan
Registered Veterinary TechnicianLogan is a Registered Veterinary Technician from Michigan and a proud 2018 Bel-Rea graduate. He loves working with animals and helping clients feel confident about their pets’ care. When he is not at the clinic, he can be found hanging out with his spouse, hiking with his two dogs, working on his improv comedy, playing with his two children, and cheering on the Broncos and the Nuggets.
Mistie
Registered Veterinary TechnicianMistie started full-time in veterinary medicine as an assistant in her home state of Alabama when she was 18. After ten years of honing her skills on the job, she moved to Colorado in 2008 to attend the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. Graduating in 2010 as a Certified Veterinary Technician (now called a Registered Veterinary Technician), she worked at several small- and mixed-animal practices caring for dogs, cats, exotics, and large animals. In late October 2016, while working as an overnight technician at an emergency and critical care hospital, Mistie began doing relief work at Homeward Bound. She officially joined the team full-time in mid-2019 and is currently working on obtaining her Veterinary Technician Specialist Certification in small animal Clinical Practice (VTS-CP). Mistie is married to her wonderful husband, Gordon (who is, coincidentally, the son of a veterinarian practicing in Wisconsin), and has a daughter, born in August 2014. In her almost nonexistent free time, she loves horseback riding, reading mystery and fantasy books, and relaxing with her family.
Stephanie
Registered Veterinary TechnicianStephanie is a Registered Veterinary Technician. A Colorado native who grew up in Boulder, she graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute in 2006. Stephanie enjoys all aspects of her job, but she specifically loves radiology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs.

Jori
Veterinary AssistantJori was born and raised in California. After gaining her certification in Veterinary Assisting, she moved to Colorado to continue her career. In her free time, she can be found hanging out with her miniature dachshund, Marvin.
Kaila
Veterinary AssistantKaila is a Colorado native. She is a Certified Veterinary Assistant who also holds a bachelor's degree in Music Business. She has been with the practice since its beginning with Aziz and Jeff. Kaila can be found working reception, running rooms, or managing inventory. She loves music—especially rock and metal—and has two dogs. She is also very interested in reptiles, having grown up with an iguana and raised two bearded dragons.
Maleigha
Veterinary AssistantMaleigha is a Colorado native and dedicated Veterinary Assistant who joined the team in 2023. She is passionate about providing compassionate care and helping pets and their families feel comfortable during every visit. As a proud pet parent to Athena, a Golden Retriever, her love for animals extends well beyond the clinic. Maleigha hopes to further her education and become a Certified Veterinary Technician to continue making a positive impact on the lives of animals and those who care for them.

Veterinary AssistantNicole joined the team as a Certified Veterinary Assistant in July 2024 and enjoys being part of a collaborative, supportive environment. Outside of work, she loves hunting, spending time outdoors, and being with her family. At home, she can usually be found relaxing with her dog, Breckenridge, and her cat, Bambam. Whether she is out in nature or enjoying a quiet evening with her pets, Nicole values a balanced life filled with meaningful connections.

Victoria
Veterinary AssistantVictoria joined the practice as a Veterinary Assistant in August 2023. They are currently working toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician, a goal inspired by their lifelong love of animals and their desire to provide top-quality care. At home, Victoria shares life with their black Labrador, Sirius, who is not only their constant companion but truly the center of their world. Whether taking Sirius on outdoor adventures or studying for their vet tech courses, Victoria brings enthusiasm and heart to everything they do. Outside of work, they enjoy unwinding by attending Colorado Mammoth lacrosse games, where they never miss a chance to cheer on their favorite team. Victoria is grateful to be part of a supportive, compassionate practice dedicated to improving the lives of pets and their families.

ReceptionistOriginally from Nebraska, Jess developed a love for animals at a young age while goose hunting with Golden Retrievers. After moving to Colorado 19 years ago, she eventually turned that passion into a career and has been working in the veterinary field for the past five years. As a Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist, Jess enjoys supporting both pets and their people, creating a welcoming and positive experience at every visit. At home, she has three dogs—Avalanche (a German Shepherd), Rockie (a collie mix), and Lunatic (a Labrador)—who remind her every day why she loves what she does.
Kailin
ReceptionistBorn and raised in Colorado, Kalin is proud to work at a cornerstone of Arvada, supporting pets and the people who love them. Her background is in human healthcare, but moving into animal medicine after the COVID-19 pandemic has been a welcome change of pace. Kalin spends most of her time with her husband of 14 years, Andy, and their two children, Bodhi (15) and Avery (13). She is also the proud pet parent to two dogs (Harlee and Ozzy), two cats (Luna and Phoenix), and a guinea pig (S’Mores).
LaDeana
ReceptionistLaDeana is ready to get your pet’s appointment scheduled, make sure your visit is comfortable, and see to it that you receive all the information and services you and your pet need. LaDeana is 100% an animal enthusiast who was raised in Idaho surrounded by cats, dogs, Guinea pigs, and horses. At home LaDeana dotes over Lily, Lacy, Divine, and Fancy, her very special Appaloosa horses. LaDeana’s house is also full with her husband, four children, Sarah, son-in-law Kyle, Christopher, Matthew, and Dakota. She is a proud grandma to boot! Little Pearl recently joined the Perez family and is getting much attention.
